Equal Bytes is committed to managing all aspects of our operations in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.

To ensure environmentally responsible behaviour is accepted as an integral part of our operations, we specifically undertake to:

  • Communicate this policy to our employees and the wider community
  • Educate our employees and contractors on their environmental responsibilities and ensure this is integrated into their work practices, training and decision making
  • Comply with all applicable environmental legislation and sustainability commitments
  • Prevent pollution and reduce consumption of resources through waste management strategies that promote waste minimisation; reducing, re-using, repurposing, refusing, rethinking and recycling
  • Incorporate energy efficiency measures into our facilities and promote efficient energy use in all areas of business activity
  • Promote and continue to invest in technologies that provide alternatives to business travel
  • Adopt a procurement programme which takes into account the environmental impact of products and services and supports the purchase of energy-efficient, sustainable products
  • Promote the protection and enhancement of biodiversity and ecosystems through regeneration programs
  • Pursue a programme of continuous improvement by reviewing our Environmental Management System and related objectives, targets, policies and practices

  • Purchase from local and sustainable sources, where possible
  • Support charity programs to help our local community
  • Deal with suppliers, employees and clients in a responsible way and promote best practice

Social Commitment

Outer East Foodshare Inc (oef) is a not-for-profit organisation run by a volunteer board.

We provide a conduit between food rescue organisations, and a number of local emergency food relief agencies (EFRA) within Melbourne Outer East region.

Our Manager John Csorgo is Chairperson of oef.

Yarra Rages Emergency Relief Network

The purpose of the Yarra Ranges Emergency Relief Network is to provide opportunities for members to meet to:

  • share information and expertise in relation to assisting community members
  • improve referral pathways
  • develop and distribute resources for the benefit of the Network and the community
